There are 450,000 young people in Scouting, spread across five sections: Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts, Explorer Scouts and the Scout Network.

At 3rd Prestatyn we have a Beaver, Cub and Scout Section. Our closest Explorer Unit is in Rhyl and our closest Network Unit is in Wrexham.

Each section has its own balanced programme of activities, badges and awards.

3rd Prestatyn are proud of their history and heritage. Scouting has been around in Prestatyn and the surrounding areas for more than 100 years. We are passionate about keeping Scouting and it's traditional morals, teachings and activities alive. However, this is the 21st Century that we live in. We participate in both new and old scouting activities, from knot tying to photography, abseiling to pioneering. We do it all.

Why not join our modern, dynamic and ever changing group today?

A Brief History of our group

3rd Prestatyn Scout Group is one of the oldest in the District. The Group was first registered in 1929 by Dyson Tomkinson. In 2009 we celebrated 80 years of Scouting in Prestatyn. Originally based at the back of the Cross Foxes Public House we then moved to the Stable Mews at the rear of the Victoria Hotel. Bastion Hall has been our home since 1973. In 2011 Bastion Hall was sold and we moved to the Church of the Holy Spirit. In March 2014 we moved to Jubilee Community Centre, Seabank Drive, Prestatyn, LL19 7PP.

Scouting has been a massive part of my life since the age of 7. I have travelled the world, met knew friends and learnt new skills all thanks to Scouting. Scouts has not only taught be bush and camp craft or how to tie knots - it has taught me many life skills that have helped lead me on to some amazing experiences so far, and hopefully a future full of excitement and adventure.
